Arkansas: New Law Prohibits In-State Localities from Imposing Their Own Local Income Taxes
H.B. 1026 (Act 96), signed by gov. 2/21/23. Revising current law that permits Arkansas local governments to enact a local income tax on their individual residents with the approval of a majority of their voters in a general or special election, recently signed legislation includes provisions that prohibit an Arkansas county, municipality, or other local government from levying a tax on income.
