Connecticut: New Law Expands Scope of False Claims Act and Provides Some Tax-Related Exclusions
H.B. 6826, signed by gov. 6/26/23. Effective July 1, 2023, new law expands the scope of Connecticut’s False Claims Act (Act) by applying it to most state programs and benefits by removing provisions under prior law that limited the Act to state-administered health and human services programs. However, the legislation excludes from the Act scope claims, records, or statements made under any tax law administered by the state or one of its political subdivisions.
