Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Reminds of April 17 Deadline and Potential May 15 Extension

The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts (Comptroller) reminds business owners that April 17 is the deadline to file property tax renditions (i.e., lists of taxable inventory, furniture and fixtures, machinery, equipment, and other property owned or managed as of January 1 each year, which may be used by Texas appraisal districts to set property values) with their Texas county appraisal districts, noting that different deadlines may apply for certain regulated property. In a related newsletter, the Comptroller explains that a May 15 extension from this April 17 deadline potentially may be obtained upon written request for some property types.
