New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio recently signed an executive order that eliminates New York City’s 5.875% hotel room occupancy tax rate for a three-month period, from June 1, 2021 to August 31, 2021, in an effort to help accelerate recovery of the hotel industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
